Best friends forever (ok, 25 yrs + so far)

Last week we had to eutanize my 17 yr old lab mix. It was sad, but even worse to watch her suffer and have to explain death to my three children. I was so ready for an escape and could not wait to take off on my weekend trip. I went to La this weekend to visit by fave friend ever- Anissa. I had a wonderful time as always. I got teeth whitening trays made (the Dr. said I had a small mouth-yeah laugh it up peeps cause I got witnesses) and Nissa sweetly posted that pic on her fb wall. We went shopping, had a mani and pedi, a lot (too many) of drinks, ate Tex Mex, visited with old and new pals, played poker and she colored my hair. Anissa is the only person to be honest with me and said "Girl, don't you look in the mirror at home?". Honestly, I avoid the mirror like the plague. Anyway, my grays are now hidden. Thanks Anissa! For three days I forgot how old I am. I missed my kids and hubby, but needed that break. There was only one casualty while I was gone-our female tree frog died. So, I would say that is pretty good. I did come home to a hopuse cleaner that it was when I left. That was a plus. However, when I walked in the door the first thing I was asked was "Can I play with your IPAD?" and "Did you bring us anything?" I will definately leave a more detailed list next time especially since I am planning to be gone long enough for them to all appreciate me when I return.

Snow days

Someone please explain to me why we get out of school/work for snow days, but not hot as hell days? There are days here in Oklahoma that it is too hot to move. We are on day four of being home bound and it is snowing ...again. I swear I am not complaining, but I am thinking that alcohol and duct tape should become part of my emergency kit. My threats of "stop fighting or everyone is taking a nap" are no longer working. Is it too early to pull the Santa card? Probably and it does not help that my ten year olds (yep, not a typo, I have twins) already know/think I am Santa. (Hint to self: Quit wearing red and a diet is definitely in order.) We did go sledding yesterday and it wore all three kids out so they went to bed early. Too bad, I was too tired to appreciate that. After four Ibuprofen, I was able to move again and plan to go sledding this evening. I am a gluten for punishment, I know. I went to the store Monday to "stock up", but so did everyone else so, I came home. Now, we are in need of eggs, sugar and bread. You know, the stuff the store is out of too. I have been pretty creative with my cooking this week and some of it has even been edible. Today, I remembered I set up a blog...last September. I thought I might out to post something. This is it. I am now going to enter several giveaways from my blogging faves. Maybe you want to check them out too. Momma Drama, Life with the Lebedas, Momma told me and Simply Stacie. This is just a few as I hate to overwhelm anyone.
